NAS Overview

This is my current NAS or Network Attached Storage. This product is a large data storage bin that can be accessed through local network. I bought this NAS for around $600 and bought two HDD hard drives for $110 each. The hard drives were Seagate Wolf 4TB each. I am using this as my homelab server, nothing fancy but reliable. The NAS works especially great when ethernet is attached and to the client it is connecting to.

Hard Drives

This NAS allows 4 HDD drives and 2 NVMe SSD caching drives on the bottom of the device to make it faster. I have not personally added them yet but that would be my next venture.

Remote Access

One of the biggest challenges people will face with a NAS is remote access. A solution to this is an application called tailscale. Tailscale is free for home users and there goal is for you to eventually proceed to buy the paid plan at your work or office.
